COPY OF A LEASE IN THE MANOR OF TOLGULLOW FROM THE BOOKS OF CHAMPERNOWNS [BROOKS 51]
Rebecca Trewartha of Gwennap, widow, holds by Indenture of Lease, dated 27th August 1762 Granted by Arthur Champernowne Esq and Francis Champernowne Clerk, Three eighth parts of and in All that one Messuage of Tenement situate lying and being in St Dye, heretofore in Possession of James Harris and William Tom both decd. And also all that one plot of Ground to the West of the Church called Trinity Chapel; the whole messuage or tenement containing by estimation sixteen acres of Land or thereabout and parcael of the Manor of Tollgullow at Saint Dye. Excepting Timber-Trees, Tin,Copper and other Ores, Waters, Water-Courses &c. To hold the said premises unto the said Rebecca Trewartha for 99 years determinable on the Deaths of sd Rebecca Trewartha, William her son and John Thomas of St Dye.
Considn the surrender of a former lease determinable upon 2 lives and £52.10.00.

Another lease dated 24th Dec 1751 is to Sampson Jory, Rebecca Trewortha being in possession. It concerns "Three eighth parts of and in all that one Stamping Mill commonly called & known by the Name of Francis's Stamps, otherwise Killicor New Stamping Mill, situate in Killicor-Coombe, and Parcel of the Manor of Tollgullow at Saint Dye.
Her will, written 21st October1788, was proved 1816. We believe she was the Rebecca buried 14 Nov 1788 Gwennap, though Bawden, in his transcription of the Gwennap register comments that there is no burial record.
