The will of Peter Trewartha, died 1805
In the name of God Amen. I Peter Trewartha of the Parish of Gwennap and County of Cornwall, Miner, being very sick and weak in Body, but of perfect Mind and Memory, Thanks be given unto God, calling unto mind the Mortality of my Body, and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, do make and ordain this my last will and Testament, that is to say principally and first of All, I give and recommend my soul into the Hand of Almighty God that gave it, and my body I recommend to the Earth, to be Buried in decent Christian Burial, at the discretion of my Executors; nothing doubting that at the general Resurrection I shall receive the same again, by the Mighty Power of God. And as touching such Worldly Estate wherewith it has pleased God to bless me in this life, I give, devise and dispose of the same in the following Manner and form
First, I give and bequeath to Susanna, my dearly beloved Wife, the House I now live in, and the house adjoining, with the whole of the Land belonging unto it, as long as she continue a widow, after Her the said Susannas, decease, the said premises to be continued in the possion (sic) of Johanna my youngest daughter, untill she is the age of Twenty one years, after she become the age of Twenty one years, and the said Susanna my wife is deceased, the whole premises to be divided between my three sons, that is to say Peter, Abraham, and William, in paying each of my Daughters, Mary, Susanna, Ann, Johanna, five pounds each, out of the said premises If then living, If any one of my daughters decease before, Johanna, my youngest Daughter become the Age of Twenty one years, the said money belongs between each of my sons before mentioned, - the goods and Chattles belongs to Susanna my beloved wife, as long as she continue a widow and to be at her disposal at her Decease, neither one of my sons, to be at liberty to dispose of their parts, to anyone out of the family
If Susanna my wife, and Johanna my Daughter should both die before that Johanna my daughter is the Age of Twenty one, the premises becomes to my three sons before mentioned Immedially (sic), and the five pounds to be paid to each of my Daughters then living Immediately, on becoming to the Said Premises
In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal, this the Twelfth day of april in the year of our Lord one Thousand Eight Hundred and Five.
